The Pink Chihuahua

Chichuahua.

It’s one of the most difficult-to-spell words to ever make its way into the English language. So difficult, in fact, that you didn’t even notice that we didn’t spell it correctly above. It’s Chihuahua.

Luckily, Soho’s local Mexican cocktail bar – The PC – doesn’t have a weekly spelling bee. What it does have, however, is a weekly tequila tasting night….

Situated in the basement of El Camion, this 3am-licensed bar is plastered in Day of the Dead murals and memorabilia that surround the seating booths and bar counter. With glass cabinets full of tequila bottles, it’s easy to get a gist of how your night might end up.

THE COCKTAILS

Were presided over by the late, great mixologist Dick Bradsell (inventor of the Espresso Martini, the Russian Spring Punch, and the Bramble), contains a list of six margaritas, six daiquiris and four tequila-based cocktails (made from the bar’s own collection of over 300 bottles of the stuff), and a dozen other mezcal and cachaca-based numbers.

And, being as this place is below El Camion, you can always pop upstairs for a quick quesedilla.

Sorry, quesadilla.

NOTE: The Pink Chihuahua is open Monday – Saturday (6pm to 3am). They accept walk-ins and reservations, which you can make online here. Memberships also available to guarantee entry during busier periods.
