No, that’s not a phonetic guide to saying the word “Italy” in a vaguely offensive fashion.
It’s a new Italian dining hall coming to London next year, in what amounts to basically a massive food theme park. They’re packing everything good about Italian food into one grand space, and it’s going to be amazing.
We can say that with no small amount of confidence because there are already Eataly branches in cities like New York, Chicago, Tokyo, Istanbul, Toyyo, Monaco, Seoul, and more. And they’re pretty much universally beloved. So, get justifiably excited.
What can you expect? Well, if the other branches are anything to go by, there’ll be a couple of dozen restaurants, a few bars, plenty of gelato counters, butchers selling authentic Italian cuts, fishmongers with Mediterranean swimmers, literally hundreds of varieties of olive oil, bakeries loaded with focaccia (and all manner of regional loaves), wine from across the entire boot, and all the pasta. All of it.
It’s going to be hard to b-eat.
NOTE: Eataly is set to open in Broadgate in 2020. We’ll be back with more info when we have it. In the meantime, you can salivate at their website right HERE.
