Two Stars.

Typically, that’s a bad first review to get.

But when it’s from the people at Michelin and they give you both of them within the first six months of opening… that’s almost impossibly good.

Well, that’s exactly what Michelin gave Brooklands – two Stars. And it’s a decision that seems almost shocking but not surprising, simply because the man behind the whole operation is Claude Bosi, who at this point seems like he could slip, trip, and accidentally win a Michelin Star. After all, he literally runs Bibendum (two Stars), housed in the  former Michelin headquarters.


Here, he’s decided to create a place inspired by the classic eras of British aviation and motorsport, and the space itself is testament to that. Slapped on top of the Peninsula Hotel on the fringe of Hyde Park, it’s a pretty extraordinary dining room that features a truly huge gleaming silver sculpture of the Concord cutting through the ceiling, while celestial star maps embedded into the carpet below help it to navigate.


And just as that particular piece of engineering was a meeting of both British and French greatness, so too is the menu. Here, Bosi’s classical French techniques are put to use transforming British produce into award-winning dishes like Exmoor caviar with roscoff onions & duck jelly; Devonshire monkfish with smoked eel and red pepper miso; and a dessert of Scottish cep mushrooms with banana & crème fraîche.

Of course, being on a rooftop, there’s also a nice terrace outside overlooking half of Belgravia and Hyde Park.

It’s a five star view.

OTHER NOTE: As of writing, they’re serving up a three course lunch for only £58pp, which is not too bad for a Two Michelin Star experience.
