Cambridge Street

This restaurant didn’t have a name to begin with.

Luckily, they quickly addressed that.

So welcome to the Cambridge Street, a cosy culinary gem tucked in the midst of hotel-heavy Victoria (you’ll find it beneath boutique hotel Artist Residence, in fact). Sporting al fresco seating under candy-striped awnings on the outside, and a bohemian assortment of plush woven banquettes, antique mirrors and colourful wall art on the inside, it’s a chameleon of a space that wears equally well as a breezy, sunlit spot for brunch and a low-lit, cosy date spot come evening. If you’re not lounging on the sofas, you can score a coveted spot up at the polished copper dining counter overlooking the open kitchen, which is where they prepare…

THE FOOD

The menu kicks off in the mornings with brunch and breakfast classics (full English, Eggs Benedict) as well as more inventive combinations like chorizo toast or smoked salmon with truffle, expertly knocked together by head chef Elliot Miller (previously at the Michelin-starred Kitchen W8).

Cambridge Street

Lunch covers all the bases, ranging from light bites like tuna tataki with watermelon, avocado, and coriander, to more substantial serves like cajun chicken or goat’s cheese burgers with sriracha mayo. And come the evening, you can expect to be spoiled with starters like sea bass carpacchio, with octopus, squid, and Piquillo pepper, followed by mains like pea and mint risotto with burrata, pine nuts and girolles; duck breast served with rainbow chard, kohlrabi, pickled cherries, and gingerbread; and cod with samphire in an elderflower-laced buttery sauce…

NOTE: Cambridge Street is open all day, every day, and you can book a table online HERE. You’ll probably also be interested to hear they are also currently running an Aperitivo Hour deal, which offers £5 spritz cocktails and unlimited nibbles from 4-6pm, Monday – Friday.
