As it turns out, Quality Wines isn’t a bad restaurant either…
Behind the vino lies an excellent weekly-changing menu of Mediterranean-leaning small plates from Head Chef Nick Bramham, who – presumably in the noble pursuit of research – is off on holiday at the end of the week.
Luckily, in his absence, Chishuru’s Chef-Owner Adejoké Bakare is coming in to babysit the kitchen.
It’s quite the babysitting coup. The Nigerian-born chef is the talk of the town these days, first entering the public eye winning the Brixton Kitchen competition in 2019 and then hitting the big time a year later with Chishuru – now one of the first places to get mentioned whenever there’s a best restaurant in London debate going on. For her Quality Wines pop-up, she’ll be dishing out a £59 set menu of ridiculously good West African food – i.e.
It’s exciting stuff, and such excitement means that available seatings are already starting to disappear at a scarily quick rate. So catch her if you can… Or, well, back at Chishuru when she returns there.
NOTE: Adejoké Bakare’s Quality Wines residency runs from September 28th to October 8th. Bookings can be made here.
