You’re invited to an underground party.
It’s on April 26th at the newly opened, raucously enjoyable Studio 88 (you can read all about it HERE, it is indeed underground) who’ll have a non-stop live band exclusively playing audience requests all night… and it’s going to be Nudge readers only.
So what will you get for your £15 ticket? Well, for one a welcome glass of prosecco. Then two hours of free flowing cocktails, with two hours of free-flowing California Cones to go with them. And 2-4-1 cocktails for the rest of the evening. And of course, an amazing time.
Here’s a little more about each of those points:
THE MUSIC
As we mentioned, the band (a six-piece outfit with two pianists, a drummer, guitarist, bassist and horn) will be exclusively taking requests from the audience, then having the musically synched illuminated tables & lighting respond perfectly to the rhythm of the tunes. There’s a very packed dance-floor every night. It’s going to get wild.
THE DRINKS
Regarding those free-flowing cocktails, aside from playing the classics their barkeep will also rustle up a list of original numbers from their Autograph Collection – the Astoria Studios, for example, blends gin with Velvet Falernum, ginger & mint; while the Abbey Road Studios mixes 16yo whisky with lemon & honey. And you’re getting them free of charge for two hours, then 2-4-1 all night thereafter.
THE FOOD
As for the food (which, again, is coming completely gratis for 2hrs) they’re serving up bamboo cones filled with Californian-influenced ingredients such as miso lamb with black bean, quinoa & chipotle yoghurt; some coconut chicken curry with sticky jasmine rice, coriander chutney and crispy fried onions; or veggie shiitake mushrooms with curly kale, garlic, tamari & sesame seeds. Just don’t overindulge.
You don’t want to break any records.
