Bar Termini |A 1950’s Italianate Cocktail Bar In Soho
Batman & Robin.
Ben & Jerry.
Robson & Jerome.
Han Solo & Chewbacca.
Our list of “Duos Who Have Made The World A Better Place” is long.
Some of our favourites have written music (Lennon & McCartney), cheered us up in times of need (Peanut Butter & Jelly) and made the world a safer place by fighting crime (Danger Mouse & Penfold). But only the latest duo on our list – cocktailing supremo Tony Conigliaro and coffee king Marco Arrigo – have pooled their respective talents in order to create a tiny little 1950’s Italianate cocktail bar and coffee shop in Soho; a spot so perfectly stylish and unique that it placed at No. 6 on the World’s Best Bars list 2018.
Welcome to Bar Termini, which you should know about for two reasons:
1) The coffee’s good. You’ll find five simple, perfectly-executed coffees here: an espresso, a triple espresso al tavolta, a cafe latte, a bianco and a bicherin, each of which bear the seal of approval of Mr. Marco Arrigo (who in addition to being one half of “Marco & Tony” is also the worldwide head of quality for Illy). During the day you’ll also find baked goods from L’Anima.
2) The cocktails are good. You may know Tony Conigliaro from earlier hits like 69 Colebrooke Row. But if you don’t, then know this: he’s the cocktailing equivalent of Willy Wonka, a man who’s spent endless months squirelled away inside his “Drinks Factory” in Islington producing Bar Termini’s highly-curated menu of Italian-style cocktails (served alongside charcuterie and cheeseboards each evening) with the assistance of a crack team of bartenders, chefs, scientists and perfumers…
… some of whom are actual Oompa Loompas*.
*Just kidding. They all are.
NOTE: Bar Termini is open all week from 10am (11 on Sunday) until late. You can book ahead and find out more HERE.
