London’s museum quarter just got a new work of art.
Lina Stores is has added to its growing family of restaurants and delis across the city with an opening on Exhibition Road, serving up its famed hand-made pasta to dozens of carb-hungry punters in a characteristically stylish space with a wrap-around terrace.
You’ll find it slap-bang in the middle of museum country, virtually within sight of the V&A and the Natural History Museum. Inside, it’s loaded with all the classic design elements that have made Lina Stores so distinctive – from the mint green stripes, to the opaline lighting, chequered flooring, and the vintage Tuscan credenzas and cabinets, it’s a petite little haven.
But thankfully the beauty isn’t all surface level. From the central open kitchen, the chefs are busy prepping Lina Stores’ signature fresh-pasta-fuelled menu. You can expect all the classic stuff (burrata ravioli, crab linguine, 30-Egg yolk tagliolini, etc.) alongside a few new numbers too, including Jerusalem artichoke & ricotta tre latte agnolotti with lemon & pine nuts; and some lumache pasta with broad beans, guancial, mint & Pecorino Romano. And you can finish it all with a silky burnt caramel & marsala tart.
Washing it all down, there are of course plenty of Italian wines (mostly organic & biodynamic), as well as cocktails from the venue’s feature bar too. Just don’t indulge too much…
…lest you make an exhibition of yourself.
