Half Cut Summer Sessions | Kitchen takeovers from some of London’s hottest chefs
Your diary probably already has a few half-cut summer sessions lined up.
But here are a few more worth knowing about…
Half Cut Market – North London’s go-to for natural wine, indie beer and delightful snacks – is also pretty pally with many of London’s hippest restaurants, something which over summer, they’re putting to good use for collab dinners & kitchen takeovers. Titled Half Cut Market Summer Sessions, the team has already assembled a lineup of chefs that’ll see them through until September, and we have to say, it’s high-calibre stuff.
Kicking things off, you’ve got Spasia Dinkovski (17th June), aka Mystic Börek, who’s known for her banging Macedonian filo pastry pies and stuffed filo doughnuts, and will be launching her own brick & mortar site in South East London later in the year (this will double as a fundraiser to help her out). After her, there’s Yagmur Foster & Pabos Mattheou (from 22nd-24th June): these two work at Manteca, one of Shoreditch’s best restaurants, and will be cooking food from their homes in Turkey and Cyprus. So things like salty halloumi with sweet figs and floral lime honey.
Post-June, the quality doesn’t let up with Ottolenghi’s Jake Norman (29th July), Hill & Szrok’s Alex Szrok (11th-13th August), Bouchon Racine‘s Jakob Grant (25th-27th) and pop-up legend Jay Morjaria, who’s had a residency here before, rounding the series with a two-night stay from 7th-8th September. Just remember, Half Cut Market is small, with a handful of seats outside and a few more, but not a lot more, inside. So you’ll want to crack on with it and book in…
…if you want to make the cut.
NOTE: Half Cut Market Summer Sessions will be running until September. Bookings open for a takeover two weeks before they start, and you can do that here.
