Judge not, lest ye be judged…
…unless ye want to run a cooking talent competition. Like The Great British Menu. Then a judge is more or less essential. And yes, that judge is certainly opening themselves up to considerable critical scrutiny by opening up a restaurant of their own, but something tells us that Andi Oliver will be just fine.
Her restaurant, named Andi’s, will open at the end of March in Stoke Newington. It’ll be a brunch spot by day, and a brasserie by night – expect baked eggs, and french toast with maple syrup for holding up the “br” part of the brunch menu, with large pastrami & cheese sandwiches making up the “unch” portion.
There’ll also be a considerable focus on healthy eating, with dishes packed with roasted veggies, salads, and avo that they’re calling Energy Bowls. But will they really give you energy?
We’ll be the judge of that.
