If you wouldn’t want to take one on solo, you’re probably a chicken.
But you’ll be fine at Florentine, an all-day diner on the Southbank near Waterloo. Because they’re serving ostrich eggs to share between four people.
The place itself has a polished, metal/concrete vibe with splashes of bright yellow to round it out. On the menu, you’ll find:
Flatbreads come straight out of their stone oven before being loaded with toppings like smoked burrata, wild mushroom & truffle, and Tuscan sausages. Larger dishes see shakshouka with duck eggs, braised lamb shanks, and Yellowfin tuna steaks. Now, back to those ostrich eggs:
If you’re with a few friends, you can score one of the aforementioned gigantic fried/scrambled eggs with a full English besides, plus whole roast chickens and 1 kilo Tomahawk steaks.
The polished steel bar is serving mixed drinks such as the Plum Fizz with gin & plum juice, and the Scotch & Co with whisky, pear, ginger, and cinnamon syrup. All of which sounds like it’s going to be delicious…
..but we’re not counting our eggs before they hatch.
NOTE: Florentine is now open. You can check out the menu, drinks, and more at their website right HERE.
