Pacific | Aussie superchef does sushi & saké in Soho
What covers two thirds of the earth and can soon be found in Soho?
It’s coming to us from Aussie chef Shaun Presland, who’s CV is pretty impressive. He’s spent 20 years training under the best Japanese chefs on the planet (including luminaries like Hiroshi Miura, Kenji Nishinakagawa and Nobu Matsuhisa). In fact, he spent seven years just learning about sushi.
That learning has gone to good use. He’s credited with turning Sake restaurant group in Australia into one of the biggest restaurant success stories in the country, with half a dozen branches all bringing in both stellar reviews and healthy profits. Then, a couple of years ago he came to London to hold pop ups in Carousel and at the Tate Modern to serve his brand of Japanese food.
And now, he’s opening his own, brand spanking new, self-run restaurant in Soho. It’ll be called Pacific, and it’ll be serving what he’s known for: sushi, sake, and all manner of Japanese goodness.
NOTE: Pacific is due to open sometime in 2019. We’ll be back with the scoop whenever more information is available. In the meantime, you can visit the restaurant’s currently blank Instagram page and admire its logo right HERE.
