Pizza East | Shoreditch Restaurant
From the players behind Soho House, we present to you… Pizza East.
It does pizza, and it’s in the East.
But you already guessed that.
Also, it’s good.
Located on the junction between Shoreditch High Street and Bethnal Green Road, and housed on the ground floor of the Tea Building, it’s a sprawling, open plan melange of exposed brickwork, steel and concrete.
In short, it ain’t your typical Italian.
The urban edge of the interior is mimicked by the modern, progressive approach of the menu. Chefs combine traditional rustic ingredients with a commitment to seasonal and local produce, with pizza toppings ranging from the more traditional olives, anchovies and ricotta to veal meatballs and squash.
Also there’s wine available on tap (metaphorically-speaking) if you want it.
If you don’t fancy a whole pizza, then there’s a wide selection of antipasti available, from octopus and chicken liver to arancini. Or alternatively you can choose a dish from the wood oven, like crispy pork belly or creamy mac ‘n’ cheese. More conventional desserts include tiramisu and a selection of gelato, but the salted caramel chocolate tart’s the crowning glory…
Big. Industrial. Lively. Good.
