Xier | A Double-Bill Of Fine & Casual Dining In Marylebone
Carlo Scotto is one of those so-hot-right-now young uberchefs who seem to have talent to burn, and a work ethic to match.
And after learning the ropes at Michelin-Starred joints like Murano and Galvin La Chapelle before becoming head chef at Babbo in Mayfair, he’s now opening his very own restaurant. It’s a fine-diner called Xier, and you’ll find it in Marylebone this February. The idea is to have a split level spot with two distinct identities:
On the ground floor, you’ll find XR, the more casual version of the two parts. Open for lunch and dinner, it’ll be where you can snag a hanger steak with pickled walnuts, shallots, parsley and baby aubergine; or a little tuna tartare with taro chips.
Open only in the evenings, the more ambitious of the two halves will only serve a 10-course tasting menu, with dishes like Obsi blue prawns served with wild fennel, wasabi caviar & fresh raspberry; or rose-cured salmon with foie gras, burnt figs, leaf oil and a citrus dressing.
NOTE: Xier is due to open on February 26th 2019. We’ll be back then with the full scoop. In the meantime, you can check out their website right HERE.
